PROBLEM: A potential security vulnerability was found in Netscape Directory Server (NDS) on HP-UX using LDAP.
PLATFORM: HP-UX B.11.00, B.11.11, B.11.23
DAMAGE: A buffer overflow may be exploited remotely to execute arbitrary code or create a Denial of Service.
SOLUTION: Apply the available updates.

The risk is HIGH. A remote attacker may execute arbitrary code as a privileged user or cause a denial of service.

VULNERABILITY SUMMARY:

A potential security vulnerability has been identified in 
Netscape Directory Server (NDS) on HP-UX  using
LDAP where a buffer overflow could be exploited remotely
to execute arbitrary code or create a Denial of Service.

SUPPORTED SOFTWARE VERSIONS*:  ONLY impacted versions are listed.
HP-UX B.11.00, B.11.11, B.11.23.

HP has learned of a buffer overflow vulnerability in the
Netscape Directory Server on HP-UX using LDAP,
product J4258CA.

      recommended patch or update is installed.
